Media & Research

Guy is available to help media organisations as they grapple with the politics of Australia's evolving response to climate change, and other major environmental challenges. As well as assisting reporters where he is able with background briefings and interviews, Guy is available to write commissioned opinion pieces, features and investigative reports, or to assist with behind the scenes research.

His practical experience as a writer, researcher and political insider combined with his postgraduate studies which focused heavily on the politics of Australia's greenhouse policy are a unique combination.

Since the release of High & Dry he has written opinion pieces and features for a host of prominent media organisations such as The Monthly, The Bulletin, Quarterly Essay, Sierra Magazine, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, The Canberra Times, Crikey and ABC Unleashed. He has provided commentary for well known TV shows like ABC's Four Corners, Difference of Opinion, and JTV, SBS Insight, and Sky News' Eco Report, along with over 20 different radio stations across Australia.

Having conducted over 50 interviews in the course of his PhD research (which uncovered the 'greenhouse mafia') Guy is also well equipped to ask questions in this field as well as answer them. This experience, along with his extensive research for High & Dry and Quarry Vision, means Guy is also in a good position to provide research assistance and analysis to media. In late 2009, for example, he was also commissioned to provide background research for ABC's coverage of the Copenhagen climate conference for Radio National's Breakfast and Newsradio.

If your media organisation is interested in locking in Guy's insights--either for commentary, analysis or research, get in touch by email (mail4guy@guypearse.com) to see what can be arranged.
